From the Police Department:

Welcome to the Town of Garfield!

Garfield police services are handled by the Palouse Police Department through an interlocal agreement.  Chief Jerry Neumann and Officer Joe Merry provide coverage 7 days a week on a rotating schedule.  If you have a question or a have law enforcement need, please call the office or the WHITCOM dispatch center and request to talk to an officer.

We have a great community with a very low crime rate and we depend on the citizens to help keep things peaceful.  If you see something suspicious, please report it immediately to the dispatch centerAll information is confidential.

Please remember your neighbors and city ordinances by:

  • Keeping your dogs on a leash while off of your property.  This protects our children and pedestrians.
  • If your dogs begin barking, please bring them inside.
  • You can begin licensing your dogs in January of each year.  If you’re new to town, please stop by town hall to get to know us and purchase the dog license as soon as possible.

We also process applications for Concealed Pistol Permits.
